Meet Howard Mayne
Howard Mayne is a dedicated public servant, community volunteer, and family man who is proud to call College Station home. A 2005 graduate of Texas A&M University, Howard’s life has been shaped by service, steady leadership, and a deep commitment to community.
While at Texas A&M, Howard worked as a dispatcher for Texas A&M EMS and later became a licensed EMT. For more than 20 years, he has assisted emergency service organizations across Texas. After graduation, he served as a full-time police officer in the Dallas–Fort Worth area and later continued his service as a reserve officer. This public safety background gives Howard firsthand experience with the challenges facing first responders and the importance of safe, accountable communities.
Since returning to the Brazos Valley, Howard has served as a Reserve Deputy with the Brazos County Precinct 1 Constable’s Office, earning promotion to Sergeant. He has volunteered hundreds of hours supporting major community events, Special Olympics, search and rescue efforts, and multi agency security operations, including presidential inauguration support in Washington, D.C. For Howard, service is not a slogan. It is a way of life.
Howard also brings experience from Texas’ vital energy sector. As a landman and executive, he has developed a strong understanding of private property rights, negotiation, and responsible resource development. He currently serves as chief operating officer of his family’s investment firm that includes investments across various industries and types of investments.
Previously, Howard served on the City of College Station Zoning Board of Adjustments, working to protect neighborhood character and integrity. He also serves on the board of United Way of the Brazos Valley and the advisory board of the Mark Massey Legacy Foundation.
Howard and his wife Rachel, class of 2006, are raising their four children in College Station. They are active members of Grace Bible Church, and Howard spends much of his free time coaching youth sports and investing in the next generation.
Howard Mayne is running for College Station City Council to bring steady leadership, public safety experience, and a servant’s heart to city government: always putting neighborhoods, families, and the long-term future of College Station first.
